Prabhu History
Prabhu Ganesan (Tamil: பிரபு கணேசன்) (born 31 December 1956) is a Tamil film actor and film producer. He is the son of legendary Tamil thespian Sivaji Ganesan.
Personal lifeA native of Tamil Nadu, he is the son of Sivaji and Kamala Ganesan. He has an elder brother Ramkumar Ganesan who is a film producer and two sisters, Shanthi and Thenmozhi. He did his schooling from Bishop Cotton Boys' School in Banglore. He married Punitha in 1981 and they have a son named Vikram Prabhu and one daughter named Aishwarya Prabhu.
Career
Ganesan has appeared in over 125 films. After his debut in the film Sangili in 1982, he made several films. Apart from taking the lead role, he has acted in several types of roles, including comedian roles and antagonistic roles. Ganesan frequently appeared alongside Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, and his father, Sivaji Ganesan during this time period.
He received a Best Actor Award in 1991. He appeared in Suyamvaram. He appeared alongside Rajinikanth in Guru Shishyan and in Chandramukhi in 2005 and in Vetri Vizha and Vasool Raja MBBS with Kamal Haasan.Acted with malayalam super star Mohanlal in the famous movie Kaalapani.
He starred as a cop operating in Malaysia in Billa in 2007. He recently acted in Kuselan, Silambattam and Ayan in supporting roles. His currently acting in several projects, namely Mani Ratnam's Raavana, Maanja Velu and Asal. His dialogue in chandramukhi "Enna kodumai saravanan idhu" has elevated him to a legendary status.
